The Woodcutter

I just couldn’t get into the story. Not at all, something just made it incredibly difficult for me to continue the story. As well as the fact that the characters were all a little too bland.

The plot to my feeling was a little too slow, and didn’t have anything that added a lot of tension. Or made me anticipate anything, because it just felt like the characters weren’t in much of any danger.

Another aspect which made it hard had been the fact that there was too much telling, especially regarding certain elements which I think will have evoked more emotion from me if it had been shown.

The story did have a lot of potential, but I think the execution could have been a lot better for it to have gained a little more connection with the reader.

Overall, it just had a lot of things which didn’t mesh well with me. Perhaps it might be for you, but it just wasn’t for me.
