This was largely not intriguing nor did it really seem to have an idea where it was going. I was hoping that some form of tension, answers will be revealed.
But I feel that for the entire book I still know nothing. Absolutely. I don’t know who was responsible and who had been the end of the story. The narrator is not someone I will trust to handle investigations, and that is me putting it lightly.
The premise and plot sounded interesting. The idea about witchcraft had been fascinating. But it failed to deliver.
There were some threads about covens, about the trials three hundred years ago. Trials where plenty of innocents died in it as much as they were guilty.
Nothing was really given a definite answer or delved deeply enough that I felt that it was covered as it was.
Overall, disappointing. The beginning and most of the middle had been promising. But the ending just didn’t seem to give that sort of closure to me.
