Disappointed. I was expecting a fun regency romp and this is isn’t anything that has really fascinated me at all.
I was hoping for a fun ride which her previous work was. And I didn’t care about any of the characters. They seem rather paper thin and I feel as though nothing was really developed. None of them even felt like a real person to me.
The dialogue had nothing memorable. Which probably is why the work simply didn’t draw me in. Without good dialogue, which is mostly how I imagine them. This is incredibly hard for me to even like them.
There is just something about the book that makes it hard for me to like them or even enjoy them to say the least. And even less to make it come alive.
And this didn’t really do anything. I guess all I just want is something with memorable characters and memorable dialogue. And right now, this is not one of them.
