The Poisoned Pilgrim

If there was anything which I really liked about this was the clear establishment of its characters.

The story is rather quiet and simple. About the hangman and his daughter. And also his extended family. And that they were now on a pilgrimage elsewhere.

It was entertaining as the story was rather personal about where it was going. Back to the core story about the hangman and his past. Which had been a fascinating story to look around at. And colorful one at that.

This was really what a mystery series should be about. Focusing on the main central characters in its own way. But ensuring that the mystery still stayed at the front. Not to mention that the writing was delectable and entertaining.

A weakness was that I didn’t really care about the mystery. But I did care a great deal more about the characters. Who found themselves in strange situations as it is, and probably why I liked it more. It was about the characters not the plot.

And that to me was all it really needed to become a better book. Even as the plot fell a little through. But other than that, I had a great time reading this work.
